2018 Delaware County Fallen Firefighter and EMS Memorial Softball Tournament

Saturday June 2nd 16 members participated in the Second Annual Delaware County Fallen Firefighter and EMS Memorial Softball Tournament. Opening ceremonies started at 8:30am and included an opening prayer by Collingdale Fire Co. Chaplain Reverend Perry Messick, Sun Valley High School ROTC serving as honor guard, The National Anthem by Delaware County’s own Country/Pop music singer Ashley Caranci and Amazing Grace bag pipe performance by Collingdale Police Department’s Corporal William Carter and Collingdale Fire Co. member Thomas Heckman. Ladder trucks from both Chester and Newtown Square Fire Departments formed the arches.

No Caption 2018 Memorial Day Parades

Today the company participated in the annual Concord and Bethel Township Memorial Day Parades. The Concord parade began at 0930hrs at the Springwater Plaza located off of Route 202 and ended at the Elam Methodist Church located on Smithbridge Road. The Bethel Township Parade began at 1115hrs at the Briggs Auction on Naamans Creek Road and ended at the Siloam Methodist Church on Foulk Road. Memorial Day services followed both parades. Participants included the Brandywine American Legion Post 811, Bethel Township Police Department, Bethel Township Preservation Society, Bethel Fire Co., Concordville Fire Co., Garnet Valley High School Band, Bethel Township Board of Supervisors and local Cub Scout, ... GVHS Annual Mock Crash

This morning the company participated in Garnet Valley High School’s annual Mock Crash. The Mock Crash is a part of the high school prom week activities. The Mock Crash informs students about the dangers of impaired and distracted driving. The Mock Crash included students and actors from the Media Theater who staged the crash as realistically as possible. Additional first responders included Concordville (59), Riddle Hospital EMS, Pennsylvania State Police and The Bethel Township Police Department. No Caption Vehicle Fire at Booth's Corner Farmer's Market

Friday evening May 18th just before 9pm the company was dispatched to the Booth’s Corner Farmer’s Market for a vehicle fire. Squad and Engine 66 with 9 members both made the response. Upon arrival a small engine compartment fire was encountered with a melted hood latch. Crews accessed the engine compartment, extinguished and were available within 30 minutes. House Fire on Foulk Road

This morning around 10am the company along with Concordville (59), Boothwyn (40), Ogden (55), Chester Heights (71), Rocky Run (46), Medic 66 (Crozer EMS) and the Lower Chichester (39) Rapid Intervention Team were dispatched to the 3100 block of Foulk Road for a house fire.

Truck 66 (FF Z. Hunter) arrived on scene with smoke showing. Truck 66’s crew was advised of an active kitchen fire and placed a 1 ¾ hose line in service. Engine 59-2 traveling south on Foulk Road had access to the closest hydrant located at Foulk Road and Arbor Drive and dropped a 5 inch water supply line to Truck 66.
