By Board of Director Matt Hills Jr.
November 1, 2016

Wilfred Austin “Utt” Davis, 90, a lifelong resident of Bethel Township went to sing at the Pearly Gates on October 31, 2016.

He will be remembered for his smile, quick wit, sense of humor, and passion for service. “Utt” worked at Sun Oil Company for 35 years, was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church for 76 years, and a member of the Bethel Township Hose Company No. 1 for 70 years. A proud veteran of the Army-Air Force, “Utt” was also a member of the American Legion Post 811 for 60 years.

Nicknamed “Golden Arm” while playing in the Siloam Church League, “Utt” loved baseball and was an avid player, fan, and coach. He coached the Tigers in the Sun Oil Little League for five years. He loved football, March Madness, and watching his grandchildren play sports. As a Florida snowbird, he enjoyed fishing, playing bocce, watching greyhound races, and visiting friends.

He was the son of the late Mary Julian and Walter Thomas Davis and was also predeceased by brothers, Frank, George, Harvey, and Tom Davis and sisters, Mary Lorraine Weller and Priscilla Whitby and son-in-law, Don McDaniel.

He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy, daughters, Donna Conner (Tom), Cheryl McDaniel (Bob), son Glenn (Mary Beth), grandchildren, Greg, Kyle, Quintin, and Dana Davis, Tom and Todd Conner, great grandchildren, Cori and Dylan Conner, and twin brother, Wilbert “Bip” Davis (Jean) as well as many cherished nephews, nieces, and friends.

His family is grateful to Neighborhood Hospice, especially Andrea, Mary, and Jennifer - your compassion, care, and dedication went above and beyond.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Siloam United Methodist Church, 3720 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley. Visitation will be held in the church sanctuary prior to the service from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
Siloam United Methodist Church, 3720 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060,
Bethel Twp. Hose Company, 3737 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060, or
