Truck and Engine Run Two House Fires In Bethel

Wednesday evening November 20th just before 2130hrs the company along with Concordville (59), Green Ridge (63), Chester Heights (71), Aston-Beechwood (72), Medic 66-7 (Crozer EMS) and the Claymont (NCC 13) Rapid Intervention Team were dispatched to the 1400 block of Colonial Drive in Bethel Township for a building fire.

Truck 66 and Engine 66-3 made the response. Arriving crews investigated an issue with the dryer. The assignment was held to Bethel and Green Ridge. Bethel units were on scene for approximately 30 minutes.

Later in the evening just before midnight the company along with Concordville (59), Talleyville (NCC 25), Claymont (NCC 13), Medic 66-7 (Crozer EMS) and the Green Ridge (63) Rapid Intervention Team were dispatched to the 3700 block of Mayfield Lane in Bethel Township for a building fire.

Truck 66 and Engine 66-3 staffed with 10 members made the response. Truck 66’s crew arrived and reported a smoke condition was evident throughout the house. As Truck 66 and mutual aid crews investigated the source Engine 66-3’s crew secured a water supply for Truck 66 and placed ground ladders. The smoke condition was found to be caused by a malfunctioning heater, the heater was secured, the residence was ventilated and Bethel units were available within an hour. Units operated under the command of Chief Mike Heacock (66-9).
