Sunday afternoon January 24th just after 2pm the company & mutual aid departments were dispatched to the 1100 block of Kirk Road for a building fire. Truck, Squad & Utility 66 with 13 members all made the response.
Deputy 66 (B.Small) arrived on scene with fire showing from the C side (rear) roof area of the building. Truck 66 initiated a split lay dropping 750 feet of 5-inch supply line from Kirk Road & Weller Drive, took the driveway & placed a 1 3/4 hoseline in service. Engine 10 (Upper Chichester) arriving as the second due engine completed Truck 66's supply line to the hydrant on Weller Drive. Responding crews contained the fire to the rear roof area.
Bethel's volunteers were committed on scene for 90 minutes before returning to restore the apparatus. Thank you to all assisting mutual aid companies & Parkside (45) for covering the Bethel local while we were committed. Special thanks to Upper Chichester for assisting us with rolling up our supply line.
